 1975-1979  1980-1981  1982-1986  1987-2012 | Starting from 1975, there been only 4 logos and 4th one to be the luckiest of all that stood there until beginning of Windows 8. The New 5th Logo din't really show a new design but the idea behind it portrays 4 different directions or empires, thankfully no flag just simple four-flat-squares (same colors) with the 'Microsoft' typed in Segoe font, which has been used mostly with all products and marketing communications in past. I am certain there will be many who'll yawn seeing the logo and some may come up with their own versions. Either-ways just hope the new features of Windows 8 manage to eliminate windows XP, vista, and 7 to the core and give-out a good predicted competition to Apple and Linux. Good Luck. Cheers.
